Have you noticed that when you plan and work towards something, there will most certainly be last minute glitches and little, little obstacles coming your way, Sudden changes and sudden diversions. It is uncanny. And this goes on through life. I often ask whether some people go through more and some less. Whether some go through less but more intense experiences or little irritants throughout life?

But then, you have to find justifications to accept that which is beyond control. That is the bottom line. This thought is perhaps a continuation of my earlier thought in a recent post:

That life happens when we are busy planning it according to our desires. However, let us not dwell just on these but on the larger happiness beyond the immediate hurdles that makes life worth living.

Circumventing life! Do we really know how to live life? From the time of our birth, we are gradually moving towards death. But that’s not the point. We die several deaths in life even before death actually happens. Either we live with past memories or with anxiety for the future. Almost as if that cutting of the umbilical cord at birth has the same effect as the severing of the cord of the kite in the sky, leaving it swaying in space , completely directionless and blown away by the wind to wherever it takes the kite.

We are not geared to living in the moment. That cord has been severed, too. And the reason is, we don’t actually know how to live this way. The past and future thoughts leave no space for the present. So, our thoughts are also blown and scattered here and there and we just don’t know the art of retrieving them and filing them where they belong or letting them go, as the case may be.

Each day passes, never to return. But all we do is frame our memories in picture frames and spend our lives looking at them, some with happiness, some with sadness and some with regret. Where is the space for the present? Where is the motivation to shake off the dust and start off again towards a new horizon?

Healing

When you get pushed into circumstances unknowingly and they turn out to be adverse, even ugly, you quickly tell yourself it was karma, because you had no valid explanation. But when, knowingly, you step into such circumstances, there is anger. Even rage, at yourself, either for having trusted the wrong people or having listened against your inner voice to someone you “respected” Or for a cloudy judgment. In any case, it IS karma to be in a place and among people you were chosen to be with. But it is very difficult to look at it this way when your life is crumbling to pieces and your desires are a distant dream.

Changing your place and your space gives you breathing space.

As you grow older, perhaps, you only seek consolidation of people around you who have stood the test of time AND been with you, People who have been kind and loving, healing in their presence. And I understand why the importance is not “family” per se but souls who may or may not be family but who have a salutary effect on you. Oh yes, and loyal, too.

Old postulates and belief systems are just that: old. And often don’t work. What works is being among those who see your chinks but treat them and you lovingly and accept without criticism and without judgment.

For, who really knows when your last day might be?

I wonder often… when one actually reaches closure to anything. When a wound stops festering and begins to heal and whether it is ever given a chance to keep healing or whether someone keeps touching the raw nerves so that they never heal, at all. And time passes, it stays until it’s time to pass on.

The agony of the human being is completely underestimated and / or undermined because no one can get into anyone’s shoes to experience it. But many claim to. And many are critical without understanding. This is something I have yet to understand. It is truly amazing.

And to make matters worse and more challenging is the compulsory and social need to wear a happy surface skin which hangs loosely because the wounded skin is so tightly wrapped around.

Blessed are the souls who can feel this deeply about others.

Every time we align and realign ourselves with people and situations, we are realigning with the universe, trying to find the perfect alignment, the perfect fit. But is there anything like a perfect fit? Each time you want to finally rest there, something changes again.

It feels somewhat like…when you have taken the support of someone’s shoulder and that is suddenly jerked away from under your hand. But that’s ok, because there is a new support forming already. A constant Movement and changing alignments are a kaleidoscopic reality. And that’s the way it was meant to be. We were not meant to be permanent settlers here. And so, movement and destination became linked.

How the outside world is turning was always reflected on the inside of us. And the graduation has to be inwards; into subtle realms till reincarnation is not the norm anymore. Until such time, we will continue to look for that perfect fit which is our journey till the truth is revealed.

Ultimately, it is all about us. And one of the things relevant here is also spending time with people who make us feel good. We don’t make it a point to spend time with those we can learn from. We prefer to be in the company of people who we are not threatened by or develop a complex from. We definitely avoid such individuals. This attitude prevails more in the modern world of competition and one unman ship. At one time, there was much respect for the learned class, the evolved class. And being around them was a blessing because just listening to them developed our own process of thinking.

They say you develop the traits and qualities of people who you befriend. It is certainly something to ponder over in the context of what we have become and where we need to go from here.

To speak freely is a human right. To live in fear and bottle up your opinions and thoughts is an injustice that societies must come together to combat, for good can only come out of a free and frank discussion followed by introspection.

Just as we stop in our tracks when a black cat crosses, (sheer superstition but we do it nevertheless), we need to stop in our tracks when our thoughts, speech and actions become black.

Black is a color which soaks in white to make a gray but what we need is pure white, the healing light and the light of clarity and purity.

There are so many tags attached to life… such as “difficult”, “unbearable”, “sad”, “exhausting” when we work with black.

What we need is radiant white in our lives. And white symbolizes “simple”, “honest”, “loving” and bright….
